图像编码国际标准凝结了过去几十年这一领域的研究成果,对多媒体技术的发展起到了巨大的推动作用。介绍了静态和运动图像压缩编码国际标准的发展过程中出现的一系列标准,特别是JPEG2000、MPEG4以及H.26L,总结了这些国际标准的压缩效果、应用场合及相应的压缩编码算法,分析讨论了这些新标准的特点和优越性。从JPEG到JPEG2000、从MPEG-1到MPEG-4、从H.261到H.26L,标准化工作取得了长足的进展,各种算法的竞争也越见激烈
Abstract:
Image coding international standardization binds the researchs in the passed some years in the field, and tremendous promotes the development of multimedia technology. Looks back and discusses a series of still and motion international standards appeared in the course of development, especially JPEG2000, MPEG4 and H. 26L. The compression effects, practical instances and the algorithms which were used in these standards were generalized, and the characteristics and superiorities of these new algorithms were analysed and discussed. From JPEG to JPEG2000, MPEG- 1 to MPEG - 4, H. 261 to H. 26L, all of this reflect the development of standardization, and the competition of all kinds of algorithms are more and more intenser
