随着科技的进步和考古学研究的深入，传统的考古资料收集和处理方法已越显不足。遥感和GIS作为大范围空间数据采集管理和分析的先进工具，为科技考古的发展带来强力的支持。巢湖遥感考古信息系统是基于对遥感和GIS技术分析的基础上建立的系统，它能够为考古工作的开展和海量的资料管理分析提供有效的帮助，进而为考古工作者提供便利
