数字视频编码技术是数字信息传输、存储、播放等环节的前提和基础，数字视频编码标准是信息领域的基础性标准，成为近20年来整个数字视频领域国际竞争的热点。概述了国际国内视频编码标准发展的过程，侧重介绍了中国制定的具有自主知识产权的视频标准AVS（Audio Video coding Standard）标准

Video coding, standard is one of the most important parts in the communication field and it becomes the focus of international competi-tion. The.paper summarized the most of video coding technologies and standards, furthermore, have a detailed presentation of Chinese standard of. our own AVS（Audio Video coding Standard）
